Light-weight Layers for Transition Styling

Processed with MOLDIV

I love to layer up for style and practicality.  None of these pieces are new so I’m just giving ideas of how to style this look using similar pieces.  My style philosophy, which I learnt from my mother, was to choose a few good quality items and mix and match them to get multiple different looks.

The longer length cardi is from my fav Zadig & Voltaire and I bought it at the end of last summer season on sale :0….Result!  I like this style as it slims the hips and covers the bum if you like it that way.  Similar here and here Styled with a camisole the cardi transitions into summer and covers up in the morning and evening when there is still a chill in the air.  This camisole is a Liberty of London print produced in a limited edition for Uniclo, therfor cheap as chips!  Sadly no longer available but I love this one here or for a warmer palette this one here

Love my skinny jeans as you may have realised by now!  Look out for lighter weight cotton mixes for summer wear.  These are old ones from Hudson Jeans – I wish they still produced them with back pockets as they are very flattering for a boyish figure like mine.  Some alternatives that I like are here or my favorite pink ones here

I like to wear my boots for as much of the year as possible so the plethora of white ones that are available this year are a great bonus for the summer vibe that they add.  Mine are from Chloe so an investment piece, but if I ever tire of them they will sell on consignment for not much less than I paid for them and never, never will they go for landfill :O!!!  here and here I like this neutral color pair, similar style here but much more reasonable ;p and also this style here and these boot style sandals look pretty cool too here  My bag is also from my favorite major design brand here and here but these saddle bags would look good with the outfit too here and here and here

To complete the look I pile on a collection of silver jewelry with a few turquise accents, perfect for a summer boho vibe.

Thats it for now folks.  Thank you for stopping by, Sarah X

Crushing On…All things Boho!

So when the sun comes out so does the boho babe in me…

When the sun comes out and all those summer activities begin…music festivals, barbeques, beach~parties, garden~parties… my style veers towards the boho.  Fringes, beads, hats, scarves and even long droopy silhouettes.  I grew up in the era of Universal Love {Whatever happened there then?} and the vibe is still with me.

Above I’m wearing THE blouse of this season ;O here with patchwork boyfriend jeans, similar here and here My belt is from a few seasons ago but still looks fresh with this look, I LOVE this one from Rebecca Minkoff {on sale!} here and would wear it on repeat, and this rope one would look good with this look here

The fringe bag is also old, but there are lots of similar ones around…I like this one here and here and this one is a classic here

When the weather heats up a little my next style challenge will be a maxi dress…watch this space!

Thanks for dropping by my lovelies, enjoy your weekends, Sarah x

Boho meets Cow-gal

Two looks showing how to play with double denim for a boho meets cow-gal transitional style…

Here I’m wearing dark denim skinnies with the hem turned back (old) similar here and here with a denim shirt cum jacket, mine is from Anine Bing now out of stock but similar looks here or wear with a traditional denim jacket here or here

My boots are from my fav Zadig & Voltaire here and similar here the bag is from the same brand from 3 or 4 years ago, similar (cheaper) styles here and here and mega, eye-wateringly expensive but gorgeous one from Saint Laurent here

My hat was a sale bargain from The Kooples, similar, but from Zadig,  here cheaper version here the cotton boho style blouse is also old, very similar here and the necklace I made myself but I’ve linked two ready made similar pieces from Etsy here and here

For my second look (below) I’ve switched the blue top for a white lace camisole (old from Zadig ;P) here and here

I’ve added a red bandana and styled it in different ways (mine was from Zara Men last summer) similar here and a red Western style belt (very old ;O) similar in black here and this brand is cool here

It’s amazing what you can achieve with the addition of a $6 cotton bandana, no?! That’s it for now folks, thanks for dropping by, Sarah x

Spring!..and a bit of Boho :D

…so when the sun comes out so does my inner hippie chick! Click on the picture to see more

Above:  Outside Saint Laurent…I’m hiding my halo under the hat ;D

Puerto Banus on a sunny Spring morning…how lucky am I?  Here I’m treating the harbor-side as my own personal runway…it was early in the morning!  I have to admit to a lifelong love afair with this boho cum rock festival style which I have rocked on repeat for more years than I care to remember ;P

Many of the pieces I’m wearing here are old favs…the pants I bought from Vestiare Collective – in my opinion the best resale site for Europeans…unworn Balmain leather pants for a tenth of the ticket price!!!! RESULT!!  My hat is from The Kooples, similar here and I like this one from Zadig (but of course!) here the blouse is HM but sadly it is already out of stock 😦 similar here and here and here the scarf has had multiple outings on the blog, exact here …

Above a detail shot of the scarf and my Chloe bag, still going strong in its 4th season, exact here

The furry vest is old (and also worn on repeat) similar here or if you wear the real thing, I like this one here my boots are also old but there any many similar styles around at different price points, I like these here and these are similar in tan here and I love these here These leather pants are obviously a bit special and I think every rock chic gal should have a pair!  Similar here and I also like these classic and classy lambskin leggings here My advice is not to buy cheap leather…better to get faux like these here

Deets of my jewelry above, I always wear a handful of hardware, and these are some of my favs…the shark tooth is old from Zadig (I thrifted it!) similar here  and here  My new made to order Badassbabyboomer dog tag (I just LOOOOVE this :D) was made by the lovely Emily of check her out here

That’s it for now folks, thanks for dropping by!  Sarah x
