Jeans, jeans, jeans!

My dad used to roll his eyes and complain that I was always wearing jeans…Guess what? He was right!

From winter to spring, and summer to fall I will be wearing jeans…along with most of the rest of you, I expect.  Dontcha just wish you’d invinted these money spinners ;O?

These days jeans come in a whole range of shapes, washes, and finishes, enough to have placated my dad even ;).  I have skinnies [mostly], straight leg, flares, bootcut, boyfriend, biker, high waist, low waist, patched, embroidered, waxed, distressed, black, grey, dark blue, light blue, pink, white….need I go on?  Jeans are hardly boring same old blue cowboy fare any longer…

Version 2

Above and below traditional dark wash denim but with the modern addition of a bit of elastane for comfort, heartfelt sigh ;O

Similar looks here and here

I love jeans that feature zips on the hip, I think that the effect is slimming, and I love my harware as you will probably know by now!  I have this style in lots of different colors.  Similar black here and here grey exact here and similar here pink, exact here [they are worth every penny;O] and similar, love these ones with the buttons, here and here white [no wardrobe is complete without white jeans] mine are old, but these are this year’s model here and I like these here the aqua pants are also old, these ones are similar here

I featured these patched pants recently on Insta and they garnered loads of likes!  They remind me of the ones we used to do ourselves in the days of hippie festival chic, which is, if you think about it, exactly the same fashion vibe as now!!  I reverted to Levis, my original jeans love, for this look.  Similar here and here  I have to confess tho that these days I prefer a jean with a little stretch content…2% is best.

Damsel in distressed!  Or Distressed is best ;D  these are my jeans of choice…I love the worn in feel of a good pair of distressed jeans, these are both in a slim boyfriend style [dontcha just wish you had a slim boyfriend ;O]  Similar here and here and here

Love this fringed pair similar babyliscious ones here and I love these too here

…and then there patterned jeans 😀 …I LOVE a spot of leopard, as you all will know by now ;O…similar here and camo never goes out of style…similar here and here

Then there are embroidered ones I have these here …oh and there are pearl strewn ones…and…

The point is that living in jeans is not a boring wardrobe choice anymore…even if once upon a time you would have agreed with my dad!  Every girl should curate a good collection of jeans in the styles and colors that you like the best.  Dressed up or down they really are a girl’s best friend in the wardrobe stakes!

Thanks for stopping by my friends.  Bye for now, Sarah x

I LOOOOVE Zadig & Voltaire knitwear…the quality is fabulous and the details are second to none.  Above I’m wearing this oversize cashmere cardi here but if the cost makes your eyes water 😦 what about this one on sale from last season in grey, which in my book is one of the most versatile and useful of colors which will never date, here I’ve paired this cardi with the same camisole and black jeans to toughen up the baby pink a little.

And here I’m wearing a classic blazer, similar here That’s all the temptation I have time for today my friends ;O…thanks for stopping by, Sarah X

Suddenly someone turned the thermostat up and EVERYONE was out and about enjoying the sunshine including me!  Obviously I did not have time to run out and buy a new wardrobe 😉 …so here I am putting my advice into practice, today with reverse layering aka stripping off!  All of these pieces have been active during the cooler weather and you will see them all in differing permutations if you scroll through the menu and look at a few previous posts.

My style philosophy has always been to buy good pieces high on finish and design which will be versatile for seasons to come.  My tee is from American Vintage but I like this similar one here  My jeans are Zadig and Voltaire, these are similar here the cardi is also from American Vintage, similar here the bag is a few seasons old from Rebecca Minkoff but she still does the same style, similar here and the belt is the perfect accessory as this Blooms pattern from the iconic Gucci brand goes with absolutely everything, exact here and here of camera my boots are Chloe Susanna’s here …these are probably my all time favorite boots.  That’s it for today folks…thanks for dropping by, Sarah x

There is something about Chelsea Boots that make my heart sing and when I spied this pair I have to say that my heart stopped and my eyes popped.  I just had to have these boots…perfect for everyday wear with jeans or leggings, or as here, styled with faux leather, similar here  Of course money is an object with me…that is I have not got unlimited funds (like you guys I guess) but on the other hand using my ‘Cost per Wear’ rationale I think that these will turn out to be a real investment ;D  exact here and in plain black here  The bag I’m carrying is a perfect example that justifies my philosophy, it is several years old, Diego style, by Alexander Wang.  It is still loved by me and admired by others, available here and here I also like this one in leopard print (no surprises there then ;)) here I plan to wear my boots also with my new mini bucket from Jerome Dreyfuss (mega cool Parisienne brand) here

Today’s Look

Click on the photo to shop the look…

After 10 days of capsule dressing I was ready to wear anything else;) …but what did my hand stray towards this morning?  Blue jeans (natch) and then what the ….may as well do double denim with a spot ;D of leopard…and I threw in a pretty blouse for a touch of femininity…ahh!  My jeans are old Boyfriend style (the older they get the more comfy in my opinion…these ones have been patched to hold them together!  Similar here and here the denim shirt style jacket is from Anine Bing exact here and similar here The white frilled blouse is from Isabel Marant Etoile exact here and similar but less expensive here My boots are also Marant and were on sale from the same site here and my bag is Jerome Dreyfuss here (I got mine from The Outnet   considerably reduced…try hunting for it from the link to the Marant boots if you like).

Enjoy!  Sarah x

Shopping Trip – Twist Boutique Marbella

Browsing around one of my favorite independent retailers in the Marbella area; Twist Boutique at Las Colonias, San Pedro  (I’m wearing the 4th day outfit from winter 10×10 challenge.  See that post in Looks for more details..)  I love Twist because the owner, Jane Clark, is so friendly and helpful.  She knows my style and my size and pulls out the right stuff for me to try, and, although she is a good sales woman I never feel pressurized if I’m not sure about something.

Having a bit of fun with Jane and Iza (my fab photographer friend)….

Getting my kit off ;)…

First outfit:  Combats and Camo…perfect for me!  These items are all by Dex Clothing which is a Canadian line and readily available in the USA.  Twist Boutique is the pioneer stockist in the whole of Europe.  The items are well made and reasonably priced.  Unfortunately (apart from a few items on sale ;O from Twist I could not source them for you on-line, but Camo shirt similar here and here and Combat pants here and here

This little powder pink suedette jacket caught my eye.  It softened up the military feel and I loved the color with Khaki…newly available from Twist, similar here

Gorgeous lingerie style top which would look fab with the right underpinnings ;D and for the right occasion…on sale at Twist, similar here and here

Next up these ‘pleather’ jeans felt comfortable and looked good on…a bit of a no brainer then ;D …look out for these in future posts!  The top also draped well and I liked the longer back and the straps at the neckline, similar shape here

A final piece to finish the look in soft suedette fabric, black with plenty of zips 😉 just my style.  Jane has a few left of all of these items but not many…get it before it goes! Similar here and here

Spotted a pair of dark wash denims just as I was preparing to finish and couldn’t resist (on sale though ;O)  Similar here and here

Finally finishing up…you can see how the new pieces compliment my existing look…thanks Jane x

Twist Boutique does it again!
