Layers and Leopard ;)

No rock ‘n’ roll gal’s wardrobe would be complete without a spot of leopard ;D…and mine is no exception!  This pair is by Just Cavalli, a recent acquisition from #theOutnet which is one of my top tips for a designer bargain!, similar here and here

Here the Fedora which no winter wardrobe should be without, mine is from Accessorize (ie cheap and cheerful!  Also try The Gap) but I would really like one of these by Rag & Bone here

This is my favourite bag of the moment, by Alexander Wang, similar here and here and new season reinterpretation (LOOOOOVE IT!!!!) here 🙂

My cardigan is classic Zadig & Voltaire from a previous season, but it is a perennial of the brand and well worth the investment as they NEVER go out of style here and here and here

The necklaces are some of my own design made from leather thong, semi precious beads and various pendants.  Look out for create and make tips

This t-shirt is also by Zadig, I’ve bared my midriff here (yikes!) to show the skull detail on the back.  I love these tees made from premium cotton and they just get better with age…a bit like us babyboomers 😉 similar here and here

…and that’s it folks…enjoy your weekend and bottoms up!!!!  ;D xoxo

Transitioning with Stripes

Looking over the photos I’ve selected for this post I seem to have been in a rather pensive mood ;( ….must remember to smile next time!  Its harder than you think when there is no photographer standing by to encourage you…yep its a selfie!

IMG_4308
I love a long cardi for throwing over a t-shirt and pants for a relaxed daytime look.
IMG_4312
I’ve knotted the tee to take up excess material, and to give a hi-low line to a normal square shape tee.  The pants are also old…I still love the patch pockets and the grommets on these ones from #zadig&voltaire

A toning scarf, here carried with the bag as the weather is still a trifle warm for wearing.  The bag is from #alexanderwang…this one scored on sale from #theoutnet ;D

My sunglasses are well loved from #carrera and I’ve styled my look with random handful of pendants and rings.  I’m wearing grey suede #adidas sneakers on my feet.

Wine With Everything…;0

I was about to write a style post and my theme was to be the colour Merlot…which I have to say I’m rather obsessed with at the moment…As I was about to go to press 😉 …ha! delusions of grandeur I hear you thinking…I received an e-mail from these guys over at Feedspot to tell me that my little blogging effort has been picked as one of the Top 75 Worldwide Baby Boomer blogs!!! ;0 😀 …thank you so much guys, and good luck with your project too x

So to return to my theme of wine…I’m going to be celebrating tonight with a glass or several of the same!

Here I’m wearing comfy combats with sneakers…or more accurately what we Brits call Plimsoles ;)… a loose poet style blouse and a fav scarf in the perfect colour combo to pull everything together, (with a liberal scatter of skulls for the badass vibe) 😉 … Altogether perfect transitional style for the casual gal like me.

Featuring a mini Rockie bag by Alexander Wang just scored on sale from The Outnet…my favourite site for designer bargains 😀

A close up of the gorgeous blouse from Rabens Saloner and a random selection of necklaces, all old.

I often receive comments from my lovely followers about the way that I layer necklaces.   The only tip I can offer is that as long as you like them all they will go together…personal taste being the unifying factor.  I just throw them on…usually all at the same time, over my head!  When I’m not wearing neck candy they can be find all around the house draped over desk lamps or hanging on cupboard door handles :O …fortunately Mr F doesn’t seem to find them an odd display!

Transition Styling – Layering Up for Fall

Processed with MOLDIV
Here I’m showing a few ideas for casual wear.  The looks are built up from basic pieces, most of which have resided in my closet for several seasons. As I’ve said before I’m more interested in cost per wear math than buying something cheap, tho i do have an eye for a bargain ;

In the above photo I’m wearing boyfriend jeans, these are old from #denim&supplyrl, a feminine blouse in soft cotton voile (a perennial fav of mine), new from #IsabelMarantEtoile via #MyTheresa.com.  The cardi is super fine and light weight, perfect for in between seasons, from #Zadig&Voltaire.  The sneakers are new Adidas, super comfy in soft grey suede, I’ve lived in these since they arrived from My Theresa earlier in the week…see Instagram photos!  The bag is an old favourite from #Chloe and the sunnies are by #carrera – I rarely stray from my love of Aviator style glasses.

IMG_4058
A shot of the cute blouse.  I’ve toughened it up in my usual style with random silver jewelry, all old, and a spiked white leather belt from Zadig & Voltaire.

IMG_2905

Here I’m wearing the same cardi over a t-shirt from the same brand with white jeans – Oo la la after Labour Day 😉 … Badasses don’t follow rules ;0

IMG_2886

Here I’ve switched my bag for an old faithful from the Spanish brand #BimbayLola …it holds a lot of stuff and just exactly matches the blue in the print of the T

Processed with MOLDIV
Above I’ve just switched up the look a bit with a long sleeve t-shirt from #AmericanVintage …love the soft cotton of these tees which gets better with age…

IMG_4108

Here I’ve switched the asymmetric cardi for a long duster style – American Vintage again – and brought out another bag…Hm!  I think I’m addicted!

Classic Combo – White Shirt, Blue Jeans…

Simple is best.  A white shirt or blouse worn with blue jeans is always a winning look.  Ring the changes with different accessories.

Necklace hand made by me!

Watch is from Fendi.  I’ve had this for around 10 years and wear it almost every day so definitely worth the investment.  I love the mix of gold and silver metals which makes this a very versatile accessory, as well as being practical.

A little bit of Rock ‘n’ Roll ;)

Rockin’ red, leopard and denim…what could be more Rock ‘n’ Roll?!  I love these sunnies which are a little 70s John Lennon and Yoko Ono…from Spanish brand Web.

IMG_2774

Various pieces of silver jewelry stacked at random!  All old…

IMG_2793

Parisienne Forever tee from #Zadig&Voltaire and the same label’s iconic Rock clutch…this one in leopard calf skin and black leather with a red lining…bliss! ;0…These jeand are the perfect destroyed boyfriend pair from #Abercrombie&Fitch

Love the double chains on this bag…perfect length for cross body or shoulder style.

Rockin’ Boho ;)

I’m lovin’ this cotton, embroidered top from #Oysho (sister shop to Zara), here with distressed boy-friend cut denims from #Abercrombie and Fitch.  My bag is from the #Zadig & Voltaire Rock collection…I LOVE this brand!  Necklace is one that I made!

Styling solution to tight waist-band! 😉
IMG_2093
I know that a lot of women have issues around wearing silver and gold together…my solution is to wear a ring (My wedding ring) and a watch in silver/gold mix after which I can pile on other jewelry, bags and belts of either colour!

IMG_2086
All time classics:  White shirt, blue jeans and a spot 😉 of leopard!

I’m wearing this look with white canvas sneakers…what we Brits call Plimsolls.  Enjoy your Saturday, Sarah x
