It’s that time of year when the shops are full of new stuff, ditto fashion mags, and style websites but the weather is not necessarily obliging!
I find the start of a season the ideal time to have a snoop around the shops and on-line to see what’s new, and to decide what I love. I then check the back of my closet to see what I already have! One of the benefits of developing your own style is that your taste remains pretty constant. (Conversely one of the downsides can be wasting hard earned cash on items that are so similar to your existing wardrobe that no-one else but you can tell the difference!) Follow this advice to maximise on your existing items and minimise mistakes 😉

Some summer footwear that caught my eye. The clog style is perfect for warmer days before a pedicure becomes mandatory 😉
A quick rummage through my summer wardrobe items revealed a few ‘looks’ from previous seasons which are eminently suitable for recycling with a few new additions as the weather warms up.

You will probably gather from these pictures that my style is really very simple. My standby pieces are jeans and long sleeve tees styled with scarves, belts, jewelry, bags and footwear…boots at the moment! I’m a real accessories gal as these are the items that make for a really versatile wardrobe when styled with basics.
In my next post I’ll be posting more style tips and ideas to freshen up your look for Spring. Meanwhile click on the Styling Ideas link for daily updates from my sets created on Polyvore and follow me on Instagram for OOTD.
